Digital Printed Murals

Large-scale interior or exterior applications

What is a Digital Printed Mural and Why Do I Need One?

Digital printed murals are full color printed images and graphics printed on a variety of substrates using large-format digital imaging printers. They may be referred to as murals, banners, or wall graphics. Digital technology has made it easier to produce large, full-color prints on fabric (or any sign-type substrate) for presentation as a temporary or permanent mural.

Museums, attractions, sports venues, entertainment venues, and other businesses use murals, especially those printed on fabric and vinyl, to announce events, convey ideas, or just attract attention.

Why choose this sign type over another and under what circumstances?

By using wall graphics and murals as an impactful, visual marketing tool, people may get interested in products or services within your space. Digital printed murals create an environment that makes potential clients and customers excited to work with you. If they see something that catches their eye, that image will stick with them. When they leave the space, they’ll be reminded of the idea that got them interested, with more confidence in your product or services.

Wall graphics and murals can represent company values that connect everyone. Day-to-day tasks will have more purpose and aesthetic touches can boost creativity. Clients will feel more relaxed with a company that presents a clear message and brand image.

Adding a custom wall graphic or mural is fairly economical and cost effective. Wall graphics and murals are easy to install and durable enough to last. The best part is your interior signage can be customized entirely to your brand image.

Different Types of Digital Printed Murals

  • Inkjet printed murals: Inkjet-printed graphics exhibit a full range of high color intensity, consistency and image quality. The water-based nature of inkjet inks requires either lamination or UV/water-resistant inks.
  • Electrostatic printed murals: Electrostatic printing produces relatively lightfast images. Electrostatic prints require lamination to achieve moisture and abrasion resistance, since they are not resistant to moisture or mechanical action without it. Electrostatic images can be transferred to other graphic substrates, such as adhesive-backed vinyl, to expand the range of applications.
  • Grand Format printed murals: Super-size airbrush printers, originally intended for billboard imaging and long-distance viewing, in recent years have allowed users to print banners, murals and numerous other displays. These machines use airbrush atomizing type systems, meaning pressurized air displaces the paint or ink rather than thermal, catalytic or electromagnetic action. Grand-format printing, because of its unique delivery systems, allows use of inordinate media, including paint, dyes or inks. Grand-format also offers the ability to print on various substrates, including canvas or carpeting. Grand-format-produced prints may last as long as 10 years of outdoor life.
  • Nylon murals:  Top-coated nylon murals are popular fabrics for interior or short-term outdoor use. They are suitable for inkjet-type inks and have a general outdoor life-span of six months.
  • Polyethylene murals: Polyethylene murals are inexpensive and acceptable for indoor banners or murals, or very short-term outdoor jobs. They are available in one and two-sided versions. The product accepts adhesive-backed vinyl. Polyolefins and other blends are suitable for long-term outdoor use.
  • Vinyl murals: Top-coated vinyl is suitable for indoor banners or murals and for outdoors when laminated. Vinyl can use electrostatic transfer methods and also have an inkjet-compatible top-coating.
  • Polyester film murals: Polyester film is suitable for indoor banners when using an inkjet-compatible top-coating.

How Ad Art Does Digital Printed Murals

Ad Art is all about value. We strive to be cost effective in everything we do so that every penny spent will bring optimal return on investment. Ad Art is known for creativity and innovation that helps set each customer’s sign apart from “ordinary” static signage. Quality, durability, and reliability are hallmarks of our products, which drives us to take pride in our work. We look good when our customers look good.

With both indoor and outdoor murals, it’s important to select a material that’s suitable for the surface it will be applied to. Depending on the surface and the environment, vinyl wall coverings or adhesive vinyl may be used. Another setting may require a nylon substrate. Whatever the case, Ad Art will match the best printing technology, media material (ink or paint), and substrate material to the surface being applied to. We strive to deliver value by selecting and applying the best digital print design for the budget.

Wall murals can be relatively small, or large enough to wrap an entire building, so creativity and budget are the only limitations. Ad Art will design the mural with unique artistic flair based on award winning creativity and proven design principles. The end result is a quality mural that helps our customer’s stand out from the crowd.
